Akon Wants to Create Cryptocurrency-Based City in Uganda
The famous rapper from Senegal – Akon – wants to create another city based on the author’s cryptocurrency. This time it was supposed to appear on the territory of the African state – Uganda.
The famous rapper Akon decided to bring to life a rather original idea of the so-called “crypto city”. The city should be built on the territory transferred by the local authorities, and all this should be done within 15 years.
According to the rapper, the crypto city should help attract investors, as well as provide a significant number of jobs for Ugandans. All of this is based on a new proprietary cryptocurrency called Akoin. Unfortunately, at the moment we do not know how much it will cost to create this city of the future.
It is worth remembering that this is the second such project created by the rapper – a similar city should be built in Senegal. The plan is to create a crypto city in Senegal on an area of more than 800 hectares, and all this will cost about $ 6 billion. And the cryptocurrency Akoin, on which the economy of these cities will rely, is already a reality – it was officially launched last November.
